Introduction

The Kelvin-Helmholtz instability is a natural phenomenon very easy to observe. As soon as two flows with different velocity are in contact, the instability can appear. However, the development of the instability is possible, only if the velocities respect a instability condition.
In this project, our main objective is the observation of this instability with Fluent. So, a preliminary study is necessary to define how we will simulate the condition in which this instability is supposed to appear.
After this theoretical study, a dimensionnal one has been realised, in order to know the dimensions of the mesh according to what we want observe.
We will finish the report on this project with the presentation of the results that we have found.
