DEFINE THE GEOMETRY : Create and refine model geometry

2D
As opposed to the 3D cases where the volumes are predifined, in the  2D configuration you have to define step by step the geometry : points, edges and faces.

  • Click on the command button GEOMETRY in the Operation toolpad. It opens the Geometry subpad.

  •

  • Click on the button Vertex.

  •
  • Place the points which define the edges of the mesh : enter global coordinates (Gambit fills automatically Local coordinates) and Apply.

  •
  • Click on the button Edges. You can choose the type of edge using the right button of the mouse on the button    (line, circle, ellipse, ...).

  •
  • Pick the End-points in the Vertices list of available vertex to make an edge.

  •
  • Make Apply to join the two End-points.

  •
  • Click on the button Faces.

  •
  • Pick the concerned edges to define the face in the list.

  • Make Apply to create the surface on the previous edges.

    3D

  • Click on the command button GEOMETRY in the Operation toolpad. It opens the Geometry subpad.
  • Click on the button Volume.
  • Click on the button Create volume. The volumes you can use are predefined by clicking the right button of the mouse.
  • Choose the parameters of the volume (height, radius, ...) and Apply.
