BASICS













 Selecting/Moving/Deleting Objects
To select an object, first click on the Mouse Selection Button in the Sidebar and click on the object of your choice. To select a drawing, always click on curves. To select a frame, always click on the header. Drag to select a group.
To select all objects of a same type, open in the Menu Bar Edit/Select All... and select in the box the type chosen.
To move the selected objects, click and drag.
To delete the selected objects, press the key Suppr.







 Mesh
To display the mesh, click on checkbox Mesh in the Sidebar.
By default, all zones are selected. To choose zones to display, click on Plot Attributes... and on Mesh button. Select zones to hide and click on Mesh Show/No.







 Shade
To display 3D volumes, click on checkbox Shade in the Sidebar.
By default, all zones are selected. To choose zones to display, click on Plot Attributes... and on Shade button. Select zones to hide and click on Shade Show/No.







 Contour
To display contours of 2D or 3D data, click on checkbox Contours in the Sidebar. If no variable was selected before, a box pop up. Choose the variable the contour should be displayed.
By default, all zones are selected. To choose zones to display, click on Plot Attributes... and on Contour button. Select zones to hide and click on Cont Show/No.
To change the variable of the contour, open Field/Contour/Contour Variable... and select the new variable.
To increase the number of levels, open Field/Contour/Contour Levels..., click on the button Add Levels and input the new number of levels.
To display the legend of contours, open Field/Contour/Contour Legend..., click on the check-box Show Contour Legend.
If the variable you need is not available directly from data, use the function definition tools.







 Vector
To display vectors of 2D or 3D data, click on checkbox Vector in the Sidebar. If no component was selected before, a box pop up. Choose the 2 or 3 components of the vectors.
By default, all zones are selected. To choose zones to display, click on Plot Attributes... and on Vector button. Select zones to hide and click on Vect Show/No.
To change the components of the vectors, open Field/Vector/Vector Variable... and select the new components.
To color vectors by the values of a variable, in the Vector Attribute box, select zones to alter and click on Line Color. In the popped up box, click on Multicolor. The color of the vectors is the one of the contour variable.
To manage vector options, open Field/Vector/Vector Length..., Field/Vector/Vector Harrow Heads... or use the options of the Vector Attribute box.







 Streamtrace
To display trajectories of particles in 2D or 3D flows, open Field/Streamtrace placement.... If no variable was selected for vector components, a box pop up. Else, modify vector components. Choose the 2 or 3 components of the velocity. Then the box on the right pops up.

To place 1 streamtrace, enter coordinates of Start Position.

To place several streamtraces, click on the check-box Enter Rake Positions, input the number of streamtraces (Streams per Rake) and enter coordinates of Start Position and Rake End Positions

To color vectors by the values of a variable, open Field/Streamtrace details.... Click on the check-box Show contour flood. The color of the vectors is the one of the contour variable.

To remove streamtraces, click on Delete All Streamtraces or use the selection tools.







 Text & Drawings
To add text boxes, open Style/Add Text... or click on the Sidebar text button.
To add drawings, open Style/Add Polyline... Circle... Ellipse... Square... Rectangle... or click on the Sidebar drawing buttons.
To finish a polyline press the key Esc.
To access the options of an object, select and double-click the object.







 Functions Definition
To create a new variable from data, open Data/Alter/Specify Equations...

Select the Zones to Alter.

The variables names are V1, V2, V3, V4... Click on the button Data Set Info... to determine the next free variable number and the name of the others data.

Then define the equation of the new variable in function of the others. For instance, define the Velocity Magnitude (V26), in function of X- Y- and Z-Velocity (V1, V2, V3):
V26=SQRT(V1**2+V2**2+V3**2)

Finally, click on the button Compute.

 XY-Plots
In the sidebar, click on XY-Plots and choose the type of graph with the check-boxes.

Click on the button Plot Attributes... which accesses the XY-Plot options. Choose graphs to show with Map Show, the X-Axis Variable, the Y-Axis Variable and the Zone.







 Data
To see or modify data, open Data/Spreadsheet.... It contains the values of all variables at each node of the mesh.
To obtain data in 1 point, open Data/Probe At.... Values of all variables are given at this point.
