AVBa  AVBP Airfoil Computation

Objectives :
This project centers around 2D airfoil calculations.
The computations are based on the unstructured flower solver
AVBP
of CERFACS.
For two differents meshes and flow regimes the three following tasks
are proposed:
 Airfoil calculation:
execution of AVBP for the two different airfoil configurations (airfoil A
and NACA0012), visualization of velocity and pressure fields,
influence of parameters such as Reynolds number, artificial viscosity, etc.
 Cp evaluation:
Determination of the polar (pressure coefficient Cp as function of
alpha , with alpha
being the angle of attack) for the two airfoils and a fixed regime.
Determination of the stall limit.
 Range of application:
Determination of the range of angles for which a numerically
stationnary solution
is available for a fixed numerical method, discussion.
Working plan :
 AVBa.1 : Introduction to the AVBP flow solver, execution of an academic
test case (channel with bump).
 AVBa.2 : 2D Aairfoil and NACA 12 calculation.
 AVBa.3 : Determination of the polars.
 AVBa.4 : Getting stationnary solutions?
