The aim of that MCIP session was to use an industrial CFD code (StarCD) with non-Newtonian fluid.

Strange fluids such as viscoplastics are widespread in industry and require a special treatment as their physical behaviour influences the flow. It is therefore interesting to see if we can easily solve this kind of problem.

To do this, we study a Couette flow where, in a first time, the viscosity is the one of a Newtonian fluid, before using a non-Newtonian fluid. It allows us, first, to familiarize us with StarCD, and in a second time to compare the behaviours of a viscoplastic with a Newtonian fluid.
