Opening of the doors

The doors of the tracker open following a time-law. We can consider two types of doors : sash doors and leaf doors making an angle $\alpha$  with the plane (see the figure below).

We compare two openings of leaf doors with different opening laws regarding the angle. The chosen openings are laws in which the angle is proportional to the time.

In the first case, $\alpha=0.1  t$  , and in the second one: $\alpha=0.6  t$.

We compare the results regarding the outlet velocity:

The tank empties faster when the angle of opening is more important, in 10 secondes, compared to 16 seconds when the angle is smaller.

We can also plot the water flow:

We can see that if the doors open slowly, we can maintain the maximum of water flow for a small moment.

This observation shows that the way we open the doors plays an important part into trying to maintain a constant flow.
