Linear stability theory

When $ \nu $ become greater than $ 39,5 $, we can observe a modification of the behaviour of the KSE. As the theoretical study had predicted it, the first mode is becomed unstable. The initialisation is this example is a sine, but however the initialisation is, the behaviour is the same. It's to say that all the mode except the the first one are attenuated.

The following animation shows the amplification of the first mode ($ \nu=40$).
