Star CD : How to make a Graph
The aim of this little manual is to describe how to make
a graph with the Star CD post processor.
You have to follow three steps :

Choose cells in your domain

Load corresponding data
-
Set and draw your graph
Choosing cells :
There are two main way of getting some cells in you domain.
First you have to plot your mesh :

Click C-> All
-
Select at the top of the main Window Geometry Plot

Click Cell Plot
If you know the coordinates of the cells you want to select
:

Type in the command line : cset news gran xmin,xmax,ymin,ymax,zmin,zmax
(where
xmin,xmax,etc.. are the appropriate coordinate)

Tools -> Cell Tool..., and highlight at the top Fluid,
then click on Subset -> Type (Current), and Close the cell
tool.
Note that you always have to do the second point after having
selected your cells.
If you want to mouse-select your cells :

On the left of the main window, click on C-> news... :
if you want to pick up cells one by one : click on Cursor select and
pick them up
if you want to select a zone : click on Zone and select the wanted
zone.

Repeat the second point above (tools,cell tool...,fluid,subset,type(current),close)
If you want to see the selected cells : click on Cell
Plot
Loading corresponding data :

Select Graph -> Load Graph Data

Highlight Load cell/vertex/sensor/wall numbers and data,
and click Apply

Then choose the coordinate you want to load (X, Y, Z) in
the Data to load Popup, fill the boxes as following and click load numbers
and data :

Then you have to load a second data (different of a coordinate)
: select in the main window Post -> Load Static Post File, Apply and
close.

Select Post -> Get Cell Data, and choose the data
you want, click on Load Data and Close.

Then fill the boxes as following, and click on load data

Then Close, and Close the Load Graph Data
dialog box.
Set and Draw your graph :

Select in the main window : Graph -> Graph Display

Then in the X axis Register scroll list highlight register
no.2

Then in the Y axis Register scroll list highlight register
no.3

Click Add Register Pair
-
Set all you want to change, click Apply Changes, and
Draw
Current Frame.

If you have any trouble with your graph, and particularly
if it appears indesirable lines between some points, the solution is in
: Graph->Graph registers.
