Here are presented
the results we got for a simulation of 40s.
The following pictures show
the velocity fields for several moments of the simulation : 1, 10, 14,
20, 30 and 40s.
We can see that the velocity
is about 8m/s which is a good order of value for this type of avalanches
(between 5 and 20m/s) and the way it propagates is good.

Height
The following picture
shows the longitudinal section and the "water" height for several moments
of the simulation. We can see the way the avalanche propagates down the
slope and the height of fluid.
Concerning the oscillations
of the front, the results are not too bad in this simulation. Indeed, with
the first simulations we observed ten meter high oscillations which was
a very serious problem concerning the add of a protective wall ! But we
changed the parameters (see parameters of the run
part) and we finally got these results. There are still oscillations
in the most inclinated part of the domain which is probably due to the
fact that Telemac solves equations based on low slopes hypothesis. But
these oscillations are not so important than the previous ones and allow
us to continue the study particularly for the add of the wall.
