This study aims at computing the flood of a plain, using TELEMAC2D, module of TELEMAC software. Two different regimes will be considered: the steady-state flow of the river and the flood. A special attention will be paid to numerical boundary conditions before describing the results of the two regimes.
Presentation of TELEMAC2D
TELEMAC2D is a module of TELEMAC software solving
the Saint-Venant equations for non-linear long waves. This software is
only used for free surface flows as river flows or sea streams. TELEMAC2D
needs a pre-processing (with MATISSE) and a post-processing (with RUBENS).
Presentation of the problem
The modeling of a flood consists in the modeling of the minor bed of a river and with a histogram, the modeling of the major bed. This river is 2km long as it is displayed in the following picture:
